An essay by David I. Masson

David Masson‘s death in February is especially saddening because Chris Priest and I had a long and enjoyable correspondence with him while (and after) preparing the expanded 2003 edition of his fine sf collection The Caltraps of Time. Recently, Peter Weston sent me a heap of back numbers of his fanzine Speculation, and in the May 1970 issue I found an essay by David Masson which he’d forgotten and I’d never known about: “Some Thoughts on Language in Science Fiction”.
