I’d thought I’d completed this issue, and then came the bad news about Ken Campbell’s death. Brian Aldiss rallied round with an instant tribute.

Obviously the intense though distant fannish activity of the Denver Worldcon is having its effect on me — today I felt a mysterious urge to prepare this index of Ansible artwork. Yet another web page that I’ll need to keep updating …

Yes, this issue is published a day before its official month begins. I would like to say that I was inspired by The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, whose August issue reached me on 21 June, but the actual reasons for early appearance are infinitely more tedious.

And only six months since the last one!
